Dr. Kenly Greer Fenio (KGF Pesquisas & Associados Director): Dr. Fenio established the company after extensive experience in the academic, public, and private sectors. She holds a Ph.D. in Political Science and International Development (sub-Saharan Africa) from the University of Florida and speaks English and Portuguese. Additionally, she has:

Over two decades of experience specializing in social research in Africa (qualitative and quantitative);

Designed and implemented public opinion research projects across nine eastern and southern African countries, providing analysis for the U.S. Department of State, AFRICOM, and USAID; topics have included livelihoods, politics, institutions, development, violence and extremism, health and gender, opinion of domestic and international stakeholders, current events;

Overseen grants and advised high-level policymakers at U.S. Department of State on issues pertaining to sub-Saharan Africa;

Currently teaches Research Methods at the University of New Hampshire for online Master's Programme in Global Conflict and Human Security. Taught university classes on African Politics, International Development, and Global Conflict as a Visiting Assistant Professor at Virginia Tech; overseen research of undergraduate and graduate students;

Conceptualized and implemented research in refugee, IDP and host communities in multiple countries;

Recently conducted research for local and international NGOs on food insecurity, civil society, agriculture and markets, gender, and governance and development;

Conducted academic research projects in Mozambique, Swaziland, Ethiopia, and South Africa.
Her experience in Mozambique began in 2005 and includes:

Ph.D. fieldwork on community activists living with HIV/AIDS and working with local community based civil society organizations across Mozambique;

Post-cyclone agriculture and food security projects to assess large-scale donor funding and local programming;

Governance projects on devolution and institutions; gender projects throughout the country;

Research into Theatre for Development (health and civil society/activism related);

Conflict related research in northern Mozambique

Rapid needs assessments throughout the country.
Dr. Steven Lichty (Business Partner for REAL Consulting, Team Lead): Dr. Lichty specializes in qualitative research in sub-Saharan Africa and Asia, currently works on research and capacity building with academics and researchers affiliated with several universities, and holds a Ph.D. in African Studies from the University of Florida. He and Dr. Fenio are the co-founders and managing partners of REAL Consulting Group: www.realconsultinggroup.com
Kenneth Mujovo (Researcher and Translator): Mr. Mujovo has conducted focus group discussions and key informant interviews with KGF Research. He is finishing his Master's Degree in Business Management and regularly teaches expats Portuguese and Shangaana.
Sebastião Savele (Researcher and Translator): Mr. Savele has conducted focus group discussions and key informant interviews with KGF Research. He recently finished his Master’s Degree in Business Management, has 15 years of experience as a language instructor, and speaks Portuguese, English, Changana, Ronga, Chope, Chihdza, and Bitonga.
Dione Peart (Education Specialist, Supervisor and Translator): Ms. Peart has supervised quantitative projects for KGF Research, and is an education specialist who conducts work with various NGOs and government sectors in the country. She is also a certified translator.
Carmen Munhequete (Agriculture and Food Insecurity Specialist): Ms. Munhequete has two decades of experience specializing in development and humanitarian assistance in Mozambique. She has served in Senior and Executive level positions with numerous NGOs/INGOs/UN here, and holds two Master's Degrees in Environment (University of Melbourne) and Rural Development (Eduardo Mondlane University) and a BA in Veterinary Science.
Dr. Christy Schuetze (Community Specialist): Dr. Schuetze is an Associate Professor of Anthropology at Swarthmore College (United States) and has focused research on health, religion, and development for over two decades in Mozambique (specifically in rural Sofala province). Jose Ivo Correia (Health, Youth, Gender and Governance Expert): Mr. Correia has 15 years of experience working with UN agencies, local NGOs, and civil society partners to develop best practices for health care, to create legislation for the welfare of children and women, and to promote gender mainstreaming within public policy decisions and programming. Mr. Correia has a Master’s Degree in Public and Development Management from the University of Witwatersrand (South Africa), and is fluent in Portuguese, English, Macua, and Chuabo.
Madomal Ojoziva (Researcher with Civil Society and Agriculture Expertise): Mr. Ojoziva has worked with various research companies and NGOs throughout Mozambique as a supervisor over the past two decades. He has extensive qualitative and quantitative experience on a range of development topics. Mr. Ojoziva is fluent in Portuguese, English, Chichewa, Macua, Chuaba, Nyungue, Lomwe, and Sena.
Lucas Ndondo (Researcher with Agriculture Expertise): Mr. Ndondo has worked with humanitarian organizations for over a decade, and often serves as the Facilitator for FGDs. He speaks Portuguese, English, Sena, Shona, Chimanyika, Ndau, Chibarue, Nhungue, Chiute, and Chuabo.
Dr. Carlos Shenga (Quantitative Methodology Expert): Dr. Shenga is the Director of the Centre for Research on Governance and Development (CPGD), which specializes in quantitative research in Mozambique. CPGD has conducted nationally representative surveys for Afrobarometer. It has also conducted qualitative research in rural communities, as well as projects focused on governance for local and international clients. Dr. Shenga holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Cape Town (South Africa). www.cpgd.org.mz
Focus Africa (Security): Focus Africa specializes in the provision of intelligence-led risk management services (to multinational companies, financial institutions and private clients operating in Africa), and offers clients seamless solutions for asset protection in high-risk political/security environments. Barbara Hofmann (Youth Expert): Ms. Hofmann is the Director of ASEM, a non-profit organization that works on the behalf of orphans and vulnerable children in central Mozambique. Her schools are based in Beira and Vilanculos and offer children and youth skills based training. www.asemworld.org
